Eye exams may detect systemic issues like diabetes, hypertension, autoimmune disease, stroke, cancer, or infection.
A vision exam is used for checking your eyesight and getting a prescription for glasses or contact lenses. These visits are generally with our optometrist, Dr. Rosenberg.
We accept Vision Service Plan (VSP) only
If your plan is not VSP, you will be responsible for payment
- Contact lens Training and trial for the new user is not covered by VSP
Vision plans do not cover medical issues, and cannot be billed under your medical insurance along with your vision plan visit. For medical issues you need a seperate exam with your medical insurance..
A medical eye exam is for checking the health of your eyes, diagnosing problems, or monitoring existing conditions.
Covered if you have:
- Eye pain, redness, dryness, or blurry vision, double vision, infection, sudden vision change, decreasing vision/ lost of vision, floaters, flashes light, trauma to the eye, infection
- Cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease,
- Health problems like diabetes or high blood pressure, stroke, autoimmune diseases, neurological problems, some systemic infections (Syphilis, AIDS, Tuberculosis, Lyme, Cat scratch disease, cancers and some medication that affects the eye health etc).
Note: This type of exam does not include a glasses or contact lens prescription.

HMO patients need a referral or authorization, we only take UCLA and STHC HMO

You are more than welcome to see you as a self pay for the out of network plans
