One of the most common questions we get on a daily basis is whether or not a patient is qualified to get LASIK. During your free consultation with our highly-experienced specialists and physicians, we perform a comprehensive and in-depth examination of your ocular health to ensure that you meet all of the parameters necessary to have a successful LASIK procedure.
Below are some of the basic requirements that need to be met before you can be a LASIK candidate. Don't worry if you don't meet them all, there still may be a procedure available to help you reduce your dependence on glasses and contact lenses.
- Between the Ages of 18 and 60
- Stable Vision for the last 2 Years
- No Significant Eye Problems or Diseases
- Not Pregnant or Nursing
Even if you meet the following requirements, a proper examination still needs to be done by our staff before you are a certified candidate. During your examination, we check the following:
- Your eyes' corneal thickness and health
- Your cornea's topography (how the surface of your eye is shaped)
- Your prescription
- Your retinal and optical nerve health
- Your eyes' dryness
Upon completion of the examination and a final determination by our specialists, you will be able to schedule your procedure with one of our top LASIK surgeons. If you have any questions about our services, please contact us today at (310) 829-5475.
